Organisational crises, Bribery and corruption, Media privacy, unethical Politicians, overpaid Executives?, Environmental disasters…what next??  The greatest challenges we face today are crises of ethics. What are our Moral Values? Should business have a Moral Purpose? How do we decide what’s Right and find the Courage to do it? How do we display Leadership with Integrity? How do we nurture cultures where doing the right thing becomes part of our organisational DNA?

Ethics is no longer optional, it is absolutely crucial to mitigate against Reputational Risk (both individual and corporate) and ensure economic sustainability.  And in the UK, the Bribery Act 2010 now places a specific requirement on Boards of all UK companies to show leadership – Tone from the Top – and to put in place the “adequate procedures” required by the Act as a defence against any investigation into bribery, corruption and fraud. The penalties for directors and executives who fail to take these steps may be severe.

This Masterclass is based on the philosophy ,methodologies and research developed over the last 10 years by Professor Roger Steare, creator of the ETHICABILITY® programme.  As Corporate Philosopher at Cass Business School, Professor Steare has advised the SFO, the FSA and professional services firms on the design, deployment and embedding of effective ethics programmes. With a 10 year track-record across all major business sectors worldwide, ETHICABILITY® has become a de facto benchmark and standard of excellence in leadership, culture and ethics programmes and is now part of business-as-usual with organisations like BSkyB, HSBC, BP, PwC, Severn Trent and European Bank for R&D, where doing the right thing is not just an option, it’s mission critical. The ETHICABILITY® framework integrates high-level principles, a practical methodology and fair stakeholder outcomes to help you decide, in consultation with colleagues, what’s right – and then do it.

The ETHICABILITY® Open Masterclass provides Risk, Governance, Compliance, Learning and People leaders with the opportunity to join other senior professionals, to experience this unique and powerful leadership and culture change approach. You will be shown a proven ethical decision making methodology and given the chance to practice this on a typical business dilemma.

“I very much enjoyed your workshop – it gave me much to think about in terms of how we look at and decide on our issues and how we communicate them.”  Amanda Mellor, Group Secretary & Head of Corporate Governance,  Marks & Spencer plc

“ETHICABILITY® makes a compelling case for why doing the right thing is not a function of good business, it is good business.”   Joe Garner, Deputy CEO & Head of UK Retail Bank. HSBC
