Marc Grynberg welcomes us in his boardroom for a talk on the revolutionary reshaping of Umicore in the last decade. The transition of Union Minière, an old-fashioned mining group which once stood symbol for pollution, into Umicore an environmental conscious company in all his facets is a very remarkable achievement. Today Umicore is worldwide seen as a, if not the, leading reference for sustainability on macro and micro level.
Umicore anticipated successfully on a global (r)evolution: climate change, scarcity of resources and the need to produce in a sustainable way. Umicore succeeded in keeping its strongholds but within totally different framework of orientation.
